UNESCO: Inviting applications for ‘Michel Batisse Award for Biosphere Reserve Management’.

Funding brief: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) sponsors the Michel Batisse Award for outstanding achievements in biosphere reserve management.

This award is given at the time of the MAB Council in memory of Dr Michel Batisse for excellence in the management of the biosphere reserves in line with the recommendations of the Seville Strategy.

● Applications that are not endorsed by a MAB National Committee or a National Commission for UNESCO are not eligible for consideration.
● Each country can submit one case study on biosphere reserve management, not exceeding a maximum of 30 pages (20 pages recommended) and appropriately illustrated with scientific data, figures and tables, photographs and other supporting documentation.

How to apply:
● Please complete and sign your application form before mailing it to the MAB National Committee or National Commission for UNESCO in your home country for endorsement. The MAB National Committee or National Commission for UNESCO will make a selection and send the country’s candidate to: MAB Secretariat, Division of Ecological and Earth Sciences, UNESCO, 7 place de Fontenoy 75352, Paris 07, France.
● Only applications in English and French are accepted.
